Most of the time, the cost is the same as listed on the price sheet. We charge additional fees for existing conditions on the original pool. Additional considerations are listed below.
Drain the pool. If your pool is above ground, use your vacuum hose as a siphon and drain the pool. Pierce some small holes into the old liner to drain out the last bit of water. If the pool is in the ground and you think you may have a high water table, use a sump pump to drain the pool.
Takedowns/hauling. Frog Built, Inc. can take down and haul the existing pool for fees listed on the price sheet. This is a simple process and can be done by the homeowner if they wish to save money.
Frame drops/ off-level sites. If the existing pool is partially buried the hole must be widened so that it is 4’ larger than the pool size. Example: 24’ pool requires a 28’ hole measured at the bottom. We charge $150-400 to widen the hole depending on the depth and size of the hole.
Decks. If we must widen the hole and you have 100% deck, the deck must be partially removed so that we can drive the tractor inside. Remember that the deck was custom fit to the original pool. The new pool will have gaps between it and the deck. This is caused be different numbers of top rails, and therefore different angles. The homeowner will need to do additional deck work after the new pool is installed.
Deep centers. If the original pool is excavated to be deeper in the center, a deep center completion fee will be charged. This is charged for the time to stretch and fill the deep center liner. $75/foot Additionally, any deep center over 1’ requires an expandable liner.
PVC/Main Drains. Reconnecting existing PVC will be bid on site. We recommend discarding old main drain systems. We are not responsible for leaks on used PVC, main drains or filter systems.
Sand. The original sand will be sufficient for round pools. Oval pools will require additional sand to be delivered.
